Successful Applicant Performs Complex Professional And Difficult Administrative Work In Planning, Organizing And Directing Financial Activities Of The City. Work Is Performed Under The General Supervision Of The City Manager. Monitors Budget Expenditures; Oversees The Preparation Of The Annual Financial Statements, Advises City Officials On All Financial Matters Of The City. Successful Applicant Plans, Organizes And Directs The Activities Of The Department Of Finance, Including Accounting, Internal Audit, Purchasing And Fixed Assets. Establishes And Maintains All Financial And Accounting Systems For The City: Develops Internal Control Systems And Manages City’s Investments. Successful Applicant Must Possess Comprehensive Knowledge Of Laws And Administrative Policies Governing Municipal Financial Practices And Procedures. Must Also Possess A Comprehensive Knowledge Of The Principles And Practices Of Accounting And Budgeting In Government. The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A degree In Accounting, Finance, Or A Related Field, Along With A Minimum Of Three Years Of Experience In A Local Government Setting, Or An Equivalent Combination.
